汽锅鸡被称为是云南十大美食之一，汽锅鸡的发源地就在建水，因为这里自古就制作紫陶器的传统，精美的紫陶汽锅就诞生在这里。不加一滴水在鸡肉里，鲜美的鸡汤都是蒸汽炖成的，汤浓味美色泽金黄。还有食材众多的云南菜，各种花花草草，牛肝菌，石榴花，仙人掌都可以来做菜。阿星逛碗窑村紫陶作坊，蜿蜒在山脊上的龙窑，世代相继的工匠精雕细琢出建水特色紫陶器。
Steam pot chicken is known as one of the top ten delicacies in Yunnan. The birthplace of steam pot chicken is in Jianshui, because there has been a tradition of making purple pottery since ancient times, and the exquisite purple pottery steam pot was born here. Without adding a drop of water to the chicken, the delicious chicken soup is stewed with steam, and the soup is thick, delicious and golden in color. There are also Yunnan dishes with a lot of ingredients, all kinds of flowers and plants, porcini mushrooms, pomegranate flowers, and cacti can be used for cooking. Axing visits the purple pottery workshop in Wanyao Village, the dragon kiln winding on the ridge, where generations of artisans craft meticulously the characteristic purple pottery of Jianshui.
